Noelle Cares for Kids!
And the Together With Pride Foundation
Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,
Hi! My name is Noelle Pride, and I wear 2 cochlear implants to hear. I was born with a severe hearing loss. Almost immediately, I started audio verbal therapy (AVT to listen and speak) while wearing hearing aids. When I was almost 1 year old, I received my 1st cochlear implant; I received my second implant 5 months later.
I have started the Noelle Cares For Kids program (along with the Together With Pride Foundation) in order to help raise money for cochlear implants to help other deaf and hard of hearing children. Cochlear implants are very expensive. (1 cochlear implant cost approx. $40,000, and that doesnít include the doctor visits, surgery, travel costs, and more!) Many parents canít afford all those costs, and many insurance companies donít provide much help. I am also raising money for audio verbal therapy (AVT) for children with cochlear implants, so that they can learn to speak well. AVT is also very expensive, and it isnít fully covered by all insurance companies.
Here are some ways that you can help Noelle Cares For Kids and children hear!
- Monetary donations (any amount makes a difference!)
- Sponsor or play in the Noelle Cares For Kids charity Wiffleball tournament (September 27, 2015)
- Donations for AVT starter kits: plastic shoe boxes, blank DVDs, small toys like cars, airplanes, baby dolls, & farm animals, bubbles, bells, small picture books, small stuffed animals, &/or finger puppets (*All toys should be safe for 5 and under!)
Noelle Cares For Kids is part of the Together With Pride Foundation, a non-profit (501.c.3) to help children who are deaf or hard of hearing and their families. All donations are tax deductible.
Thank you for your kindness and for helping children hear!
